HiAccounting is acquiring tax firm WR Consulting, Inc. (dba WR Financial). The purchase will be final on June 30, 2017. WR Financial, an independent Oahu-based certified public accounting firm, provides comprehensive services in accounting, bookkeeping, tax planning and preparation, and financial consulting to a diversified group of business and nonprofit clients.

Founded in 2000, WR Financial served 251 unique clients in 2016, providing 76% tax services and 24% accounting and other services. The office is currently located at 615 Pi’ikoi Street. By October of this year, WR Financial employees will join the HiAccounting team in new expanded office space.

“It is a wonderful fit, as WR Financial is primarily a tax firm with some accounting services, and HiAccounting has been to date primarily focused on accounting and advisory services, with some tax work,” said Matthew Delaney, President of both HiAccounting and The Hawaii Group. “When we merge the two businesses together, the result will be approximately 2/3 accounting and advisory services and 1/3 tax services.”

HiAccounting is purchasing the assets of WR Financial. The four full-time employees will all be hired by HiAccounting. The Owner and President, Janet Williams-Reyes, CPA/PFS, will continue in a leadership role at HiAccounting as Director of Tax Services.

This means HiAccounting’s areas of expertise and ability to serve its clients just increased dramatically. HiAccounting currently provides services to 50 unique clients and has served 112 unique clients since its inception in 2009. HiAccounting had twelve employees before the acquisition, of which 5 are CPAs.

Janet Williams-Reyes- Owner & President of WR Financial

Janet Williams-Reyes started her accounting career with the international public accounting firm of Arthur Andersen. She moved to Los Angeles in 1984 where she started and headed up the financial analysis department for Sebastian International. From 1987-1995, Janet entered the restaurant industry as Chief Operating Officer of City West Restaurant Group which owned and operated restaurants in both Los Angeles and Long Beach, California. She and her family moved to Hawaii in 1995. She is the past President and current Board Member of the National Association of Tax Professionals, and has been voted 5 Star Wealth Manager of the Year two years in a row.
